I'm back in business again. Or back in the surf, depending upon how you look at it. One thing is certain, I will be wearing Hawaiian shirts a lot more often than business suits. If I do have to suit up, I have some Rudy T. Hawaiian ties help me stay in the spirit. You can get some too when we open our surf shop on this site. There will be a lot of tropical gear available to keep you in the spirit too!
I have really missed writing since I finished
My Team. But I will be back at the keyboard now, blogging for Chron.com and writing to you here, as I feel the urge, in the weeks and months to come. I have lots of ideas, and I think you will enjoy them if you like odd angles and offbeat rhythms. For example
this article on the real inventor of baseball, Alexander Joy Cartwright.
This website will have information, such as book signing dates and Bamboo appearances, along with other events designed for the fun-loving child in you.
But what I am looking forward to most is the return of the Baseball Library – with a twist of lime. Listen carefully to the shows. Inside each of them you will find the key to a trivia question that you can answer to win a prize, like an autographed photo or ball – mostly Astros stuff for Houstonians and memorabilia from other players, past and present, for out-of-town winners. Just click below the Library logo to record your answer. Winners will be selected at random and their names and prizes with be posted periodically. At the end of the season, a grand prize drawing of all the winners will determine which lucky malihini (newcomer) or kama'aina (native) will be treated to dinner for four at the State Grill with a bottle of Opus One with me and my favorite wahine, Judy D. or a prize of equal value.
For the serious fan, there will be a link to my blog on Chron.com. And for the truly generous, there will be information on how you can help me battle illiteracy in the Houston area.
I'm excited and hope you are too. I think we can have a great time with this endless luau.
